A NEW NAME
The Chiari Neurosurgical Center has adopted a new name: Chiari EDS Center.
The re-branding reflects what has been the double focus of our group over the course of the recent years.
A NEW APPROACH
While maintaining its multidisciplinary structure (in the tradition of the Chiari Center, The Chiari Institute, and the Chiari Neurosurgical Center before it), the Chiari EDS Center will not only be focused on surgical activity, but it will enhance its efforts in the directions of conservative treatment, prevention, and clinical research, in close cooperation and with the full support of Mount Sinai South Nassau. The Chiari EDS Center is co-managed by a Surgical Director, a Medical Director, and a Research Director.
A NEW WORKFLOW
The evaluation process for NEW patients has been restructured, with a centralized and proactive Screening process, a Telemedicine or in-person encounter with the Physicians of the Medical Branch (Dr. Ruhoy and Dr. Maitland), and a “Second Opinion” format from the Surgical Branch (Dr. Bolognese.)
